The Club meet in the sixth form room of Sidmouth College, Brimley Road, Sidmouth on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. during term time.  There is a very friendly membership with several well supported sectioned tournaments throughout the season, together with teams entered in all the Exeter League Divisions.  At Christmas a blitz event is held with wine and seasonal refreshments.

Prospective new members of any age, with some playing experience preferable, are always welcome to visit the club and see if it is to their liking.  Anyone wanting to join, or go and visit, to please feel free to contact Ken Derrick on the telephone number given above.

The club is one of the oldest in the county, with the current membership of around 30 players.  Grades of playing members vary from the low 170's to the low 30's, so there is a playing level at the club to suit all new members.

NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP MAJOR SECTION

Sidmouth v Gloucester

Brian Gosling reports that on 9th December Sidmouth played Gloucester in the Major Section of National Club Championship and lost by 1½ points to 3½.   The score is not a true reflection of the play in that the result was in doubt until the very last game was finished.  This game was decided in Gloucester's favour but had the result been otherwise Sidmouth would have won on board count.

Brian adds that this was a tremendous effort by the Sidmouth players against a very experienced team.
