A Club for Enthusiasts of any standard who enjoy playing in a friendly group.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. till 10.30p.m.

at Blundell's Preparatory School,

Blundell's Road. Tiverton

Good Playing Conditions and Ample Parking.

New members are always warmly welcomed.  Subscriptions:  £10 for adults, £1 for juniors;  Evening Attendance fees: Adults £2, Juniors 50p

After starting the season in September with the customary simultaneous display by former club champion Mark Abbott, Tiverton’s DCCA campaign started in earnest.

The disappointment of an early loss to Teignmouth in the Rooke cup was offset by good performances in two Newman fixtures – a win at home against Seaton and a draw at Exmouth.  Unfortunately we narrowly lost a Schofield match against Newton Abbot but managed a draw against Teignmouth in the Mamhead.  The Moyle team did extremely well to beat Exeter 3-1.  However the exciting news is that the club is currently top of the League in the Premier division, the Bremridge, having beaten both Teignmouth and Exeter; however a strong Newton Abbot team lurks.

In the club’s internal competitions, Ivor Annetts leads in the championship with 5½ from 7 but the favourite, Brian Hewson, has won all three of his games played.  In the Rapidplay John Knowles and Jon Duckham lead with 7 points each, closely followed by Brian Aldwin on 6½.

Results of the 2010/11 Internal Club Competitions were:

Championship:  First -Ivor Annetts (6½ points out of 9);  Runner up - Keith Atkins (5½ points).

Rapidplay: First - Ivor Annetts  (13½);   Runner up Brian Aldwin (10½).

The 2010/11 season was a successful one for the club.  It won the following three trophies!

DCCA Newman Cup; DCCA Moyle Cup; Exeter and District League Division 3

Competitions entered for Season 2011/12 are:

DCCA Bremridge, Mamhead, Schofield, Moyle, Newman and Peter Rook Knock-out cup.

Exeter & District League, Premiership and Championship Divisions.

Ivor Annetts reports that after winning the first round and with just 2 games left in the second round, Tiverton were leading comfortably but then managed to lose both games to draw the match.
