Following successful seasons, both internally and in the
Torbay Chess League, the club has now decided to meet on a weekly basis on
Thursday evenings commencing at 7pm at The Courtenay Centre, Kingsteignton
Road, Newton Abbot.
Chess players of all ages are very welcome to attend and
the club has had a great deal of success in promoting chess with junior
members. Two 15 year olds have played for England in their respective age
groups, and an 11 year old has gone a long way in getting into his age
group England squad.
The club, however, are happy to see players of all
strengths and the internal competitions are geared with this in mind.
During the summer months the club will be
meeting on June 26 th
and July 3 rd , 10 th ,
17 th and 24 th
and will then have a short break until the season recommences in
September.
