The first of this series of matches was devised in 2003 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the League's creation. So successful was it that it was decided to make it an annual affair with a home at the Manor Hotel, Exmouth.

The session opened with the presentation of trophies won during the season.

Trophy name

Winner

Team Captain

Division 1 Cottew Cup Exmouth A Ivor Annetts
Division 2 Turner Cup Sidmouth B Tom Badlan
Division 3 Polsloe Cup Sidmouth C Peter Hills
Division 4 Mainstay Cup Isca Juniors Ray Hood

Once play got under way, the top 10 boards were shared 5 - 5, but results for the Coast team fell away sharply thereafter, and the Country team, comprising members of the Exeter, Tiverton and Met Office clubs, ran out relatively easy winners.
